A Time To Reflect

Every couple weeks or so I look through my Hometown Newspaper, The Hannibal Courier Post, to see what is happening in the Sleepy Missouri town which I called home for 17 years.
One of the First things I always check is "The Obituary's".   That may sound morbid but having left Hannibal some 45 years ago, never to return, I am just a bit out of touch.

I have a few Cousins who still live in Hannibal, none of which I really keep in touch with except mainly here on Facebook.  Don't get me wrong, it is NOT because I do not care, I Do!  But in the 45 years I have been away from Hannibal, it has been hard to stay in touch.

I have One Aunt still living in Hannibal, however she is fighting a Losing Battle with Alzheimer's.  The last time I was even through my Hometown, was 11 years ago when I was driving through on my way to my new life here in Las Vegas.

In the past 45 years I have had Many New Lives!  Over those years I lived in Pueblo, Colorado, Springfield, Missouri, Atlanta, Georgia, Dayton, Ohio, Denver, Colorado, West Palm Beach, Florida, Tampa, Florida, Chicago, Illinois, Milwaukee, Wisconsin and for the past eleven years here in Fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada.

I am often asked where did I live that I loved the most?  That is relative easy, it's here in Las Vegas.  It's an exciting city that always has new things happening and the weather is great!

But through it all, Hannibal, Missouri is and will always be, home!
While there are very few people I graduated High School with that still live there, I still like to keep in touch.

People often tell me that I "have lived an interesting life", but honestly, their lives have been just as interesting, if not more so.  I have some classmates and friends who have become Doctors and Nurses and have saved countless lives.  I have another classmate who became a "World Class Waiter" and in retirement he works every day trying to "Save The Earth" and to make it a better place to live.   As I get older I can now reflect on just how Good Of Live I Have Lived, by knowing all the people who have passed through my life from High School to Today.

Perhaps you should take some time to reflect on your life?

This week's Oscar Telecast was the LOWEST in history.
People do NOT want to hear a group of Very Privileged Liberals telling how I should think or who I should vote for in the next election.

I honestly feel "The Worm Has Turned".  People are TIRED of hearing about The Russian Probe, The Save The Earth Movement, The Me Too Movement, and on and on and on.

The saying "The Worm Has Turned" comes from a 1956 song by Cowboy Artist Eddie Noack.   You can give it a listen here...

It is fun little song!

And how could have The Oscar's Overlooked (?) so many prominent deaths during their In Memorial montage?
Like Adam West?
Or John Mahoney?
I was stunned to see they left out someone who I had just exchanged E-Mails with a couple weeks before she died, Rose Marie!  We discussed how her comedy had held up and was STILL funny some fifty and sixty years later.  As I told her, "Funny has no expiration date!"
And several others, including Rock Star Tom Petty.
Someone obviously Dropped The Ball at The Oscars!

Something that is NOT fun is seeing someone close to you who is an Alcoholic.
In 1982 I lost a Cousin who was like a Brother to me when he Drove Drunk and had an accident which took his life.  But his story did not start there, as he was An Alcoholic.  Sadly, he displayed all the "Classic Symptoms" of having a drinking problem.  He missed work, usually on a Monday because he was "Sick".  Each weekend he would drink until he was physically sick and then sleep it off the next day and then start getting drunk all over again.  If ONLY someone would have said something to him and if ONLY someone would have gotten him some help.  Not a day goes by that I do not think of him.

I bring this up now as currently I have a dear friend who is fighting for her future and her life as an alcoholic!  Thankfully, she is trying to get her life in order WITHOUT the bottle, but it is NOT easy for anyone.  She has sought Professional and Medical Help trying to save her own life by getting away from the bottle which I commend her for doing.

But most people who are Alcoholics are not that intelligent to ASK for help!   I must admit that I have NEVER had a drink in my life.  So it is hard for me to sometimes say the "Right" things to help.  The IMPORTANT THING is that I continue to be there and offer what help and support I can.    The entire point of this is to encourage EVERYONE who knows someone with an abuse issue, be it Alcoholic, Drugs , Self Abuse or whatever, to Speak Up!  They need your SUPPORT, not your LECTURES!

So is "Nude Yoga" a thing now?
I have three friends who tell me they "Now do yoga in the nude"!  I have even seen "Nude Yoga Classes" advertised!  Really?   I have a hard time just trying to walk and function each day much less do yoga, nude or otherwise.

If you are practicing "Nude Yoga" more power to you!  Just be sure to Send Me Your Nude Yoga Photos!

I usually do NOT watch Late Show Liberal Host Stephen Colbert.  I find his views offensive and not funny and last night was no different!
He had Oprah on, which was the only reason I watched, and he pressed her about running for President in 2020.  He went as far as projecting an image of God on his ceiling wearing a "Run Oprah in 2020" hat.  Oprah, a very religious person, did NOT seem amused!  I think it was in poor taste and came Very Close to being Blasphemous!

How is this guy STILL on the air?

Former Denver Broncos Quarterback Payton Manning has now severed his ties with Papa John's Pizza.
Last month, The NFL sacked the pizza chain as the Official NFL Pizza after some questionable remarks about NFL Players which was construed by many to be "Racially Insensitive".
Honestly, Papa John's is by far my LEAST FAVORITE PIZZA!
I am more of a "Hungry Howies Pizza" or "Dominos Pizza" fan.

The NFL's "Official Pizza" is now Pizza Hut!

A friend of mine twisted his knee at work the other day and was sent to the Medical Clinic to check it out.  As with a majority of employers, if you get hurt at work, you are sent for a Drug Test.
There in lies a problem for my friend as he WILL NOT PASS THE DRUG TEST and will more than likely lose his job.  As he was whining "Oh Woe Is Me" and "I Need This Job" to a group of friends sitting around, I finally said, "You KNOW the policy and you have been given SEVERAL Warnings!"  He did not like what I said but I pointed out to him that the BEST way to keep your job is DON'T DO DRUGS!    Was I too hard on him?  I don't think so!

And you CAN'T say I did not WARN you on SEVERAL Occasions to NOT sign "Online Petitions".  A new report today by The New York Times says that a MAJORITY of the Anti-Trump, Black Lives Matters and other Facebook Petitions were set up by Fake Russian Accounts to Steal Personal Information!
Let me REPEAT that!   A new report today by The New York Times says that a MAJORITY of the Anti-Trump, Black Lives Matters and other Facebook Petitions were set up by Fake Russian Accounts to Steal Personal Information!

So WHY did YOU forward these things and Sign them?

I am still Depressed that the UNLV School of Medicine hung up on me yesterday when I asked about the cost of tuition to become a Guppy and Goldfish Brain Surgeon!
There must be a shortage of Fish Brain Surgeons as I have NEVER seen any advertised on television!

Think of the number of fish I could save from a cruel death by being flushed!

And if you are House Hunting here is Big News!
Former Disgraced Today Show Host, Matt Lauer, has reduced the price of his Hampton's Home!

The 25 acre estate which features a 70 foot swimming pool has been reduced by $2.1 Million Dollars!   This Move-In Ready home can now be yours for just over $12 Million Dollars!  A Steal!
My wife and I were interested in the home until we realized that five months of the year The Hampton's are COLD and SNOWY!  We will continue to put up with the Golf Balls hitting our house from the golf course we live on.

I always Welcome your feedback (and Nude Yoga Photos) at
