Artificial Intelligence Scares Me

Does "Artificial Intelligence" just scare you  to death?  When it comes to Siri and Alexis I feel they are not my friends.  Smart Phones, Smart Appliances and now Driver-less Smart cars KNOW WAY TOO MUCH about me!  A recent murder case was solved when the Convicted Murder's Echo was brought into the courtroom and it was discovered it had "Stored" all the conversations and ambient sounds in the room for the previous two years!   The act of him killing his wife was captured on his Echo and ended up sending him to the big house.

Now I don't plan on murdering my wife but it bothers me that Bog Brother is always listening and stores my conversation on some big government computer.

Paranoid?  Not Me, but there is software priced at Under $100 that allows you to access and Turn On ANYONE'S Webcam , Echo or other device WITHOUT them knowing.

So think about that webcam attached to your computer in your bedroom and what people could see if they could watch without your knowing 24 hours a day?  No, I have not purchased this software, YET!  lol

And Smart TV's with voice control or Game Boxes that follow your movements when you play?  Yep, they can see and hear you!

The Other thing that troubles me are those "Driverless Cars".

Once the ride starts the doors are automatically locked.  What if it malfunctioned and decided to drive you off a cliff?  Or worse yet, what if a foreign power decided to take control of our electronics?  Our next war could start with superpowers taking control of our Power Grids, Our ATM's and Banks, Our Water System.  Do not think that All The Superpowers, including the United States, do not have the technology and plans in place to make this happen.

Back in 1960 if you needed to research something, you were off to your Public Library.  And you would find what you were looking for in the Card Catalog.

It could take you HOURS to find the information you were looking  to find.   Now just a few Clicks on your Cell Phone or Home Computer and your on The World Wide Web and have your information in just seconds.

And like your Spouse will give you Verbal Directions.  The only difference is the GPS will give you the CORRECT Directions!

 " One day I can vision a computer on every desk in every home in America running Microsoft ".  People thought he was CRAZY.  In 1990 the "Average" price of a top of the line PC at places like Best Buy or Circuit City was $2500!

Do I need to tell you that your "Smart Phone" or "IPad" has over 1000 Times the speed and is priced under $150?

Had you purchased 100 shares of Microsoft at the Opening Offer Price of $17 a share, or about $1700, just 31 years ago, today you would have roughly $750,000.  The stock has Split and Doubled over Nine Times.

And you wonder why Bill Gates is one of the richest men in the world?

Many experts say the "Next Big Thing" will be advances in Artificial Intelligence.   But at what price to our privacy?

I Have Tried

I have TRIED to steer clear of all the HATE and Political Trashing toward our President, but ENOUGH is ENOUGH!

Let's start with the HATERS who have called our President "Stupid" for what was an obvious Spellcheck error today on Twitter.

The President "Tweeted" "Sometimes you need to protest in order to heel(sic) and we will heel(sic) and be stronger than before".  For anyone who has EVER posted anything on Social Media and not been the victim of Spellcheck Error, I DARE you to comment!  If you are one of those who called President Trump "Stupid" or any other names, SHAME ON YOU!

A friend of mine posted the follow on her Facebook Page and I think it says it all.

"I offer no apology for what I am posting for this is truly how I feel. And please keep your comments to yourself because I don't want to hear it anymore so I am going to vent here:
I have lived through Presidents Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, George H. W. Bush, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Obama. In my lifetime have I never seen or heard of a President being scrutinized over every word he speaks, humiliated by the public, slandered, ridiculed, insulted, worse yet, threatened.
I am truly ashamed of the people of this country. I am ashamed of the ruthless, hating, cruel, Trump haters who have no morals, and news reporters who feel they have the right to purposely lie and do the things they are doing. Every other President after they were elected and took the oath of office were left alone; they weren’t on the news 24/7 being dissected by every word that came out of their mouth. ALWAYS BEING PRESSURED to do this or that and never given the time to do the work that needs to be done. ENOUGH is ENOUGH is ENOUGH, LEAVE THE MAN ALONE AND LET HIM DO HIS JOB FOR GOD’S SAKE!"

I think President Trump could Discover A Cure For Cancer

And the "HATERS" could say "Why did it take him so long?" "How much money is he making on the cure?" or "Is he only going to offer it to his Rich White Friends?"

No One who know President Trump personally has EVER accused him of being a RACIST.  PERIOD!   I am sure there are some of you who believe every Hate Filled Remark by the Liberals, but DOZENS of people who have know hi, both Personally and in Business have NEVER accused him of being RACIST!  

And who REALLY Believes that now Former President Trump Close Adviser and Personal Friend, Steve Bannon, plans on "Attacking the President" in his return to Brietbart News?  

Bannon, has already told friends he feels he can do more to HELP the President outside the restraints of the White House.  Those who think President Trump is Stupid or than Bannon will get even, is just plain WRONG!     Look for Steve Bannon to go hard after Republican Party "Traitors" such as Arizona Senator John McCain.

At eighty years old and in poor health, Senator McCain is the Poster Boy for Term Limits!

And let's talk about TREASON!

What Chelsea Handler said last week ENCOURAGING the United State Military and it's members to start a "Political Coup" to "Overthrow and Remove President Trump from office" by ALL Constitutional Experts is TREASON!  

And why isn't Comedian Kathy Griffin in prison for this Treasonous photo?

And I am "Ashamed of Missouri State Senator Maria Chapelle-Nadal for saying "I hope President Trump is assassinated!"

Trust me, if you or I would have made that statement we would be sitting behind bars.  Why hasn't the Governor of Missouri asked her to resign?  Or her fellow members voted to have her Impeached?

And what about those First Lady Melania Trump Haters?

I hear people called her "Stupid" and a "Whore" just because she was a Fashion Model and she came from a foreign country.  She broke no laws in her previous career.  And as far as being "Stupid or Dumb", how many languages do YOU speak?

I have a friend who is a former Co-Worker who has NEVER said ANYTHING Positive about President Trump.  This friend, who happens to be black, makes Race the center of everything bad which is happening in the world.  I honestly do not know which has made him feel thing way, but I do know 35 years ago when we worked together, he did not have these Outward Race Hate toward everything.  

So WHO is the HATER?  Maybe you should look in the mirror?  I do not agree with everything President Trump has done, but I will Respect him and Support him and the Office of The President.  

You have the right to Protest, but you DO NOT have the right to try and block others from protesting just because they have a different opinion than yours.

Speaking of Protesters who "Did it right", Civil Rights Activist and Comedian, Dick Gregory died this weekend.

The 84 year old Social Comedian was one of the first Black Comedians who performed at Previously All White Comedy Clubs.  I saw him perform back in the Early Eighties and while he made his Political and Social Views Known, he was respectful of All Opinions in the club.  I recently saw Comedian Whoopi Goldberg in her Stand-Up Performance

And she mentioned Gregory as one of the trailblazers in her business.  Like Gregory, when Whoopi opened her show she mentioned her political views in about a 2 minute statement.   But then she went straight into her Non-Political stand up routine.  Current Comedians should take a lesson for these greats.  I loved Late Night with David Letterman, as well as Johnny Carson, Jay Leno, Conan O'Brien and others.  But many of today's Entertainers, like Stephen Colbert, OBVIOUSLY do not know how to be funny without slamming President Trump.   Less than a month ago I saw David Allan Greer at the Treasure Island Casino and Hotel here in Las Vegas.  

Like Whoopi, he stayed away from his feelings on Politics.  And if you have not seen his new show on "Game Show Network" called "Snap Decision" you are missing out on thirty minutes of laughs!  

They are just a couple of comedians who remember what they are being PAID to do and what people are PAYING them to do, ENTERTAIN! 

I tip my cap to Treasure Island Owner, Phil Ruffin, for bringing us such Great Entertainers.  I have never met Mr. Ruffin but I have Tremendous Respect for him!

Ruffin, who I am sure took a financial hit by hosting the Donald Trump for President rallies.  As you may remember, Ruffin, was one of the First Entertainment Venues to cancel performances by Bill Cosby when the Sexual allegations first came to light.  If you come to Las Vegas, I Highly Recommend  The Treasure Island Resort.  You will always find good value in all the restaurants, good gambling as well as a Safe and Clean property located on The LAs Vegas Strip.

On Twitter the HATE runs rampant with people like Donna Brazile and others.  Ms Brazile as you remember is the one who gave Hillary the list of Questions the CNN Debate Moderator was going to ask in advance.  
I do encourage you to follow Poker Great Mike Matusow.  

Mike is not only a great guy and a heck of a poker player, he also always offers a Level Headed Opinion on World Events. A RARITY for many Public Figures.

If you want to see a Confederate Monument, you better look quick!

Most have stood for Over 100 Years and No One said a word.  Now, they are "Offensive & Wrong".  I can see both sides but why now?  Is it just ANOTHER way to Express Hate toward the current President?  
But what is next?

Statues of Christ which are in front of churches?  I heard where the Atheist are offended.  Or how about

Statues of Ronald McDonald because some kids are afraid of clowns.  Where does it end?


No Winner in Saturday's Powerball Drawing!

Wednesday August 23rd the Estimated Jackpot is $650 Million Dollars!  I will be on my way to Arizona to buy my tickets!  While California is forty five miles closer, the lines at Primm, California generally run 3-8 hours long when the jackpot gets this big.  I can make my almost two hour drive to Arizona, buy my tickets and be back home in less than four hours.   And if past results hold true, Not Win!  LOL!

I think "Legalized Pot" is becoming a problem here in Las Vegas.

No, NOT that type of Pot, but "Legalized Marijuana "Pot"

It seems no matter where you go, Elevators, Rest Rooms, Restaurants, almost everywhere, it always smells of Pot.  

With Baseball Season coming to an end, NFL Season is just a couple weeks from games counting.  Yes, my Atlanta Braves had a disappointing rebuilding year but as always Braves Announce Team,  Chip Carey and Joe Simpson have kept the games Informative and Entertaining.

Like all Braves fans, I look forward to Spring Training 2018 as I think the Bravos will be a solid contender next season.

But now it is time to start getting Excited for an Un-Defeated Kansas City Chiefs team! 

I have been a Chiefs fan since the Len Dawson at Quarterback days.  I am not like many sports fans, I have NEVER been a bandwagon type of guy.  In past years, the NFL Sunday Ticket on Direct TV was an "Instant Renewal"

But at almost $350 I am going to pass this season.  I will just have to watch the NFL Channel for my Chief's highlights.  I remember when "The Sunday Ticket" was first available, it was $48 for the season!  Now that does not even cover One Payment of the Six.

As I sit here and type I am thinking of going to the Grocery Store as one of my Favorite Cousins have me "Craving" Thin Oreo s!

I heard a couple of teenage girls talking inside a 7-11 the other day and what they were discussing I found Very Troubling.  

The one girl said to the other young lady, "Well, I don't hang out with Julie because her Dad is only a Janitor and I don't like to hang with those type of people".  WHAT!  WHAT!  You pick your friends by what their parents do for a living?

What a couple of SNOBS!  When I was that age I don't know that I was even aware of what were most of my friends occupations.  Who Cares?   To me this is yet ANOTHER form of Hate!

Once again this week, my doorbell rang and as I looked out the peephole, yes, it was none other than a couple of Jehovah Witness Missionaries just dying to give me a "Watch Tower"

STOP IT!   Throughout my neighborhood it is posted in several places "No Soliciting".  So WHY do you keep ringing my doorbell?  Do member of the Jehovah Witness NOT learn to read as children.  Usually, I just answer the door NAKED.  Like I have said many times before, I Do Not Care Who Sees Me Naked. (laughing so hard)   Usually when I answer the door naked it scares them away for a few months, but I was just about to walk out the door so I was dressed. This Time!  (laughing)

Don't get me wrong, I respect everyone's religious choices, but leave me alone at home!


 OK, enough of the ranting.  Let's all Laugh!

Being retired, I do not get as big of laugh from this one, but it is still funny!
